MEDICAID EXPANSION
More advocacy 101. At least of those families who are at or below poverty level have some sort of chronic physical or mental health condition that is not being treated in Wyoming.
Wyoming is one of a handful of states that has failed to expand Medicaid to the low income folks, many low wage workers, in the state. About 1/3 of the folks that come for food at the
pantry have at least one family member who has chronic illness that isn’t being treated because of lack of medical care.
It is estimated that 20,000 folks in Wyoming currently do not have access to care that would benefit from expansion.
Contact us and check back for upcoming opportunities to help encourage our elected officials to vote to expand this program in the 2022 February Legislative Session.
